Concept: This show was put on by Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School who consulted me about the design of the show after they had already begun the rehearsal process. I suggested the concept of two-dimensionality for almost every aspect of the show (grandmas bed and many of the props had to be real items). The idea was that these are fairy tale characters, two dimensional beings living in their two dimensional world with their small problems that would eventually be worked out to their happily ever after status. The characters are then faced with "real" problems and develop a sort of three-dimentionality as they learn that there isn't always a happy ending - but they are still stuck in their two dimensional world.
